Getting tattooed is safe, as long as your shop is clean (we are) and adheres to the strict standards set by the state health department and the industry itself (which we do). We also strongly recommend following aftercare instructions to keep your skin its healthiest. It's important to let your artist know if you are suffering from any skin conditions, take blood thinners or have a bleeding disorder, or allergies, as these can alter the final result of your tattoo.

According to the state of Wisconsin, anyone being tattooed must be 18 or older. No one may be tattooed under the age of 18, even with a parent's consent. ​ For any procedure, we will require proof of age before the service is provided, and reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who cannot provide evidence of their age.

You should have a good idea of what you want tattooed, how big you want it to be, and where on your body you'd like it to be placed. We so appreciate when you tell us that you trust us, but we encourage you to do your own research! Make sure our vibe fits yours, that you and your artist mesh well, and that you feel good about your choice. If you aren't sure about what you want, we'd be happy to set you up with a free consultation to discuss your ideas!

Be sure to avoid alcohol and drink plenty of water the day before and of your tattoo to ensure your skin is hydrated. Get a good night's rest, and (please) eat a big meal before your appointment (please). Wear loose, comfortable clothing over the area you will be tattooed. And finally, relax! You're going to have a great time, we promise.

We encourage you to bring whatever will make you feel most comfortable, whether that be a book, your phone, snacks, or your crochet project. Bring a friend if you'd like, but remind them that watching a tattoo can get pretty boring after a while. While we do offer ear piercings for children, we are not a PG-13 shop. We will do everything we can to make sure your kiddo is only exposed to clean, friendly music and we'll tone down language during their appointments; however, we cater to an adult atmosphere. We do not have the ability to care for children while their parent is undergoing a tattoo or piercing procedure, and therefore recommend bringing your children only if you have no other option.

We don't apply numbing cream to clients' skin at the shop, and don't really love the way it can change the texture of your skin. That being said, if you do want to use it, just let us know beforehand! No judgement, promise. But please be sure to read the instructions on the cream of your choice, as many require heavy application at least one hour prior to the appointment.

Yup. We won't tattoo any of the following: • Aren't readable (as in, nobody can tell what your tattoo is supposed to be. • People who are drunk or otherwise intoxicated • Racist or bigoted imagery • Skin that is sunburned, has an active condition (eczema, acne, infection) • Genitalia (sorry, ain't happening here) • Skin that is too thin • Inside of the mouth • People who are pregnant We will, however, be glad to let you know the reasoning behind our decisions. Don't make it weird and ask about exceptions, though. There aren't any.

We are not currently offering apprenticeship positions.
